I do love chicken pilaf! 👨‍🍳🍚

Intro 🚀

As you might have guessed, chicken pilaf is one of my favorite dishes.

This dish has many variations and everyone prepares it in their own way, so I will describe the simplest version which I use myself. I'm not a professional chef, so you don't have to follow all my instructions.

Firstly, go to the kitchen to get out the cauldron you have got after Potions classes. If you don't have one, buy it in Diagon Alley or use a slow cooker (though I haven't tried the latter).

Then put on your most fashionable apron and turn on some oriental music - you're ready for the adventure!

Rinse the rice thoroughly Wash until water runs clear, then soak 20 min. This will make him relax.

Cut the chicken into medium pieces Pat dry and season lightly with salt. How much is "lightly"? Definitely not half a can.

Chop carrots, tomatos and onions Better not in too large pieces.

Fry the chicken until golden High heat, 6–8 minutes, don’t overcrowd the pot. There should still be room left for rice, remember?

Add carrots, tomatos and onions Cook 5–7 min until vegetables soften.

Stir in secret ingredient (commonly spices and garlic) Just don't tell anyone, otherwise others might copy your dish!

Add the drained rice (finally) Spread evenly, do not stir.

Pour in hot water or broth Water should cover rice by about 1.5 cm. If you don't trust your eyes, use a ruler.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat Cover tightly and simmer for 18–20 minutes. It's better to set a timer so you don't forget.

Rest and fluff Turn off heat, let stand 10 min, then gently mix. Oh, look at this distinguished gentleman!

Now you can take it to the table and pour the pilaf onto a large platter (to impress everyone) It's hot on the bottom, don't drop it. You can add some greens on top (for example, parsley leaves).
